The High Speed Gold Tank Plating Kit – 1 Litre includes 1 Litre of our High Speed Gold Tank Plating Solution, which plates at rates above 0.3 micron-per-minute – twice the rate of our standard gold tank plating solution. The shade of gold plated is slightly less yellow than our standard solution. Because the kit replaces the Hotplate Stirrer with the Magnetic Stirrer, plating should be carried out in an ambient temperature of 18 – 25 °C

To use our High Speed Gold Tank Plating Solution Calculator, please click HERE.

Scaling up or down; you can scale the volume of your kit up or down by swapping in different volumes of our plating beakers. You can also switch easily between our different plating solutions, as the Spa Plating tank plating process is very similar across all of our tanks plating solutions.

If you want to scale down the volume of the 1 litre kit to a 500ml kit for example, these are the core items you will need to change;

High Speed Gold Tank Plating Kit – 500ml

High Speed Gold Tank Plating Solution – 500ml

Cleaner – 500ml

Stirring Bar – Medium

Plating Beaker – 500ml

Mesh electrode – 500ml

Stainless mesh electrode – 500ml

Beaker Lid – 500ml x 2

Rinse beakers x 3 – 500ml

These same core products can be scaled down further to 250ml or up to 2 litres.

The rest of the items on the kit list can stay.

Because the High Speed Gold Tank Plating Solution plates at twice the rate of our normal Gold Tank Plating Solution, it’s very suitable for the one-off, dipping method of plating, as you only have to hold it in the plating solution for half the normal time.

This high speed solution also makes quicker work of plating multiple items at once using our Plating Arm and Boss with it’s plating stand.

For guidance on how to set up and use this kit, please click HERE for our guide on using our our Rhodium Tank Plating Kit and click HERE for a guide on how to use our Magnetic Stirrer.

  • No staining from plating solution over time.

Mesh electrodes

Made from MMO
(mixed metal oxides)

  • Unlike others made of stainless steel, will not contaminate gold plating solution
  • Cheaper alternative to platinized titanium

Magnetic stirrer

Low voltage solid-state mechanism.Safe in the event of major spillage.Reversing function.Minimises tide marks especially when plating flat objects.Low profile.Minimises the chance of beaker falling off and spilling its contents.Solution is agitated with a magnetic stirrer at the bottom of the beaker during plating.

Mechanical agitation is a safer alternative to air agitation, as it eradicates any risk of the aerosol effect of the plating solution.Mechanical agitation keeps the tank plating solution moving over the surface of the item being plated in a consistent way, again maximising the efficiency of the plating process.

Avoids unnecessary oxidisation of the metal plating solution that air agitation will cause.

Slip proof stand. Minimises the chance of beaker falling off and spilling its contents.Made from chemically resistant materials.Particularly useful in corrosive atmospheres such as fume cabinets. No moving parts (solid state).Ensures long life.

How to switch the MF Rectifier Mk II to tank plating mode

To get started;
1.Place the rectifier on a firm surface and connect up your rectifier to your tank plating kit. Instructions for setting up your Spa Plating Tank Plating Kit can be seen in the video attached to instruct 5 below.
2.Ensure the on/off switch at the rear of the rectifier is in the "O" position.
3. Connect the mains socket to an earthed mains socket using the mains cable included.

1. Switch on your rectifier

Switch the rectifier on using the on/off switch at the rear of the rectifier. The switch should now be in the “I” position.

2. The "16v/5A" button

Press and hold the “16v/5A” button until it starts flashing.

3. Setting the volts

Set the voltage using the “VOLT” dial to about 5 volts (anywhere between 4.80 – 5.20 volts will do).

4. Setting the current (amps)

Set the current (amps) using the “CURR” dial to your required setting  or that displayed on the relevant Spa Plating Calculator https://www.goldn.co.uk/calculators/

In this example, we have set it to 0.10 amps.

5. Starting the tank plating process

When you are ready to start plating, press the “OUTPUT ON” button which will change from white to green to show the plating tank is powered. The “16v/5A” button will stop flashing.
