You can tank plate with NiPrep to prepare nickel and its alloys (such as nickel silver and Monel) for subsequent silver tank plating. This solution can also be used to prepare brass and bronze before you silver tank plate.
NiPrep plates a very thin layer of gold typically below 0.01 micron.
