5. 'OAH' or Amp Hour Mode

Briefly press the dial to access the ‘OAH’ counter function appears. This counts up the amp hours: the total amount of electricity that has flowed – a bit like the electricity meter on your house.

This parameter is very useful as it relates directly to the thickness of plate. You can program it to switch the output of the Microplater off at a given value of amp hours as indicated by the readout on our plating calculator.

To access the function, click the yellow ON/OFF button below the dial. The readout will change from a line of dashes (- – – -) to 0.000
Rotate the dial clockwise to select the value of amp hours that you want the Microplater Classic to power off at.

To save the setting, as with all the other settings in the menu, press and hold the dial until the display shows the main screen.

When the pre-programmed amp hours is reached and the Microplater Classic shuts off, a flashing ‘OAP’ will display.

If you wish to deactivate the amp hour function, click the yellow ON/OFF and the line of dashes (—-) will display showing the function is deactivated.

Don’t forget to store your amp hour setting. See below on how to do this.

6. 'OPH'

Briefly press the dial to access ‘OPH’ which is the electrical energy expressed in units of watt hours.

This is a specialised setting and not covered here or supported on our calculators.

7. 'OHP'

Briefly press the dial to access ‘OHP’: the timer setting.

This function allows you to pre-program in the plating time (as shown on our online calculator).

When the pre-programmed time is reached and the Microplater shuts off, a flashing ‘OHP’ will display.

If you wish to deactivate the timer function, click the yellow ON/OFF and the line of dashes (—-) will display showing the function is deactivated.

Don’t forget to store the timer setting. See below on how to do this.

8. 'CV'

Briefly press the dial to access the CV or CC setting which is is flashing in the top right hand corner of the display and can be toggled between CV and CC and back again by rotating the dial clockwise and anticlockwise.

We recommend that this is kept in the CV setting.

9.

Briefly press the dial to access the output OFF or output on function.

This allows you to select whether the output is off or on when clicking the green on/off switch at the rear of the machine.

We recommend that this setting is set to ‘OFF’ when beaker or tank plating.

However when pen or brush plating, it’s especially useful this is set to ‘ON’.

10.

Finally and most importantly, store your settings by pressing the dial until the main window is displayed.

To exit the advanced settings menu without saving, switch the Microplater off then on via the green button at the rear of the unit.
