Yellow Gold Pen/Brush Plating Solution Cyanide Free plates a 22 karat gold layer. For all our cyanide-free golds
we recommend a low voltage, 2 – 2.5 volts using a Carbon Electrode.
If you are planning to use this solution with our battery powered plating pen, please use the following battery configurations:
If you’re using a nib, remove one of the three batteries and swap it for the Battery Replacer so you now have two batteries and the Battery Replacer in the pen.
If you’re using the Short Swab on the Short Carbon Electrode, remove one of the batteries and swap it for the Battery Voltage Reducer so you now have two batteries and the Battery Voltage Reducer in the pen.
Gold content: 10.9 grams per litre.
Please note:
This is an air-sensitive solution. When not in use, keep the lid tightly shut and make sure you minimise the air space in the bottle. To help you do this you could either add glass marbles or beads to the bottle, or simply squeeze out the excess air at the top of the bottle.
You can also store the solution in a special Storage Syringe that’s available on the online shop.
If you don’t minimise the air space then the gold component in the solution will degenerate and the deposit to loose its colour.
Please click on the ‘Examples’ tab below for suggestions on how to minimise air contamination.
We recommend a gold flash before plating onto stainless steel, nickel and its alloys.
