This platinised titanium electrode is plated to a specifiaction of 100g/m2 – (around 5 microns) ensuring long-life.
Please read under the Tech Specs tab ‘caring for your electrode’.
Please note that Spa Plating electrodes are designed to work with our range of electroplating solutions only and are not compatible with electrolytes containing chloride or fluoride particularly at low pH and/or at high temperature.
Features |
Benefits |
Made from platinum plated (platinised) titanium |
Ensures top quality results for all precious metals including gold, rhodium, platinum and ruthenium
Can be used with other plating solutions
Will not darken the nib (as is the case with a carbon electrode). |
Notes: It is very important to use the correct electrode. If a stainless steel electrode is used for gold plating, iron from the stainless steel will react with the gold chemical and dissolve into the gold plating solution. This will poison it, making the gold insoluble and not able to plate. This will greatly reduce the efficiency of the solution.
Base material: type 2 titanium
Platinum content: 50 g/m2
Titanium base: 99.2% minimum
Operating current density: not more than 0.05 amp/cm2
pH range: 0.5 – 11
Please note that Spa Plating electrodes are designed to work with our range of electroplating solutions only and are not compatible with electrolytes containing chloride or fluoride particularly at low pH and/or at high temperature.
Caring for your electrode: Please do not abrade this electrode as this will
damage the platinum layer and considerably shorten its life.
